Here's your chance to take a short ride on one of the newest additions to Calgary transit's fleet of buses. 6 New Flyer D60LFRs were acquired by Calgary Transit in 2007 and they are assigned on rt.301, the Calgary bus-rapid-transit (BRT)route which runs between the North region of the city to the West side of Calgary.
These Dennis Trident double-deckers are very unique and can only be found in Victoria and Kelowna, BC in Canada. (Not be confused with the Enviro 500 double-deckers....which are a little more common in North America) In this video, we will ride on BC Transit #0251 on rt.7 Glenmore in Kelowna, BC. This video provides two very different perspectives as a passenger riding the bus on the upper deck and the lower deck. Enjoy your virtual ride!
This is a very unique hybrid bus in Canada. 7244 and 7246, both delivered to Translink in 1998 as Fuel Cell Hydrogen Ballard buses, were sent to Texas and converted to diesel-electric hybrid buses. These buses are powered by Allison GM hybrid drive system (series-hybrid) and Cummins ISB diesel engine. They are part of the test-of-the-power-of-tomorrow program, a controlled scientific experiment conducted by Translink.
Try out the next-gen trolleybuses operated by Translink, the transportation authority of the Greater Vancouver Area! These state-of-the-art New Flyer E40LFR trolleybuses are 100% emission free and produce very little noises when running. They will be replacing the aging Flyer trolleybuses in Vancouver.
Take a LONG ride on the BC Transit Orion I 01.507! This bus is powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V92TA engine and a Voith D863 Transmission. During February 2007, Translink loaned 4 buses from BC Transit during a severe bus shortage caused by the new trolleybuses that were pulled off the road. Translink loaned 2 1990 Orion Vs (Watch video of BC Transit #8606), 1 89' Orion I and this 92' Orion I.
Here's your chance to ride on this unique historical vehicle belongs to the Transit Museum Society of Vancouver, BC. V1109, a former trolleybus (Flyer E800), was later converted to run on diesel. This bus was used as the "de-icing" vehicle in the BC Transit fleet; it's mission was to travel around the city during the snow days to warm up the trolley wires. Anyway, enjoy your ride!
This video is recorded on Calgary Transit #1074, a 1980 GM Fishbowl on rt.299 which runs between Brentwood LRT station and the Abour Lake neighborhood. This route includes a short highway section, which is the first part of this recording of the bus running at approximately 90km/h! The second part of the video is recorded as the bus does lots of hill-climbings at the beautiful Abour Lake neighborhood.
Take a ride on a BC Transit 1990 Orion V 05.501 #8606, in Vancouver! In February 2007, Translink (the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority) suffers from a major bus-shortage as 39 new trolleybuses were withdrawn from the active fleet due to some mechanical problems relating to the power-steering; desperate, Translink borrowed 2 1992 Orion Is and 2 1990 Orion Vs from BC Transit

Bus S4276 one of the 10 Suburban-style 90' MCI Classics owned by Translink, and they will be retired in the near future as the new Novabus LFSes will be acquired as replacement.
The one and only first-generation Novabus LFS operated in Vancouver - Bus #981 operated by West Vancouver Municipal Transit (former BC Transit B7298) This bus is powered by a Cummins C8.3 engine combined with Allison B400R5 tranny. Notice how the video started by showing the bus reversing, which is actually part of the route as the bus would eventually end up at a cul-de-sac, and must go back towards the opposite direction! The highway journey begins 0:03:03:87, and clip starting at 0:05:14:93. Enjoy your ride!
Enjoy your ride on one of the neatest buses in the transit system in lower mainland! P3306 is refitted with a Cummins C+ engine for the "Test Of The Power Of Tomorrow", a test showcase program involving experiments with different types of alternative fuel resources such as compressed natural gas, diesel-electric and biodiesel. Special features of this video includes a wild downhill roller-coaster ride OUTSIDE the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), and a glance of downtown Eastside after dark, one of the worst neighborhoods in North America with major social issues such as poverty and use of drugs.
